The food court is packed. Riya runs to the help desk. The guard, Suresh, asks if Aanya is wearing anything with a number on it. Riya shows him the pink silicone wristband from QRSprint, scanned three months ago, half-forgotten.

Three minutes later, security spots Aanya at the Hamleys window. The guard scans the wristband with his phone camera. He sees Riya's first name, a green WhatsApp button, the line 'allergic to peanuts, asthma inhaler in mom's bag'. He taps message.

Riya's phone buzzes. The number on screen is +91 93729 55150, QRSprint Relay. The message: a stranger she will never need to thank by name, telling her where her daughter is.

Vikram's father has early dementia. He walks the same street loop every morning. He has never gone further than the temple.

Today he did. He walked out the gate at 2:30, got into an auto, said 'station'. The auto driver asked which station. He said 'station'.

The driver figured out within ten minutes that something was off. He pulled over near a tea stall and looked at his passenger. He saw a brass pendant under the shirt collar. He scanned.

The QR opened a page. Blood group: O+. Conditions: dementia, hypertension. Emergency contacts: three names, three QRSprint relay buttons.

Vikram took the call. He drove to Dadar in 50 minutes. His father was sitting on a plastic chair drinking chai, holding the tea-stall owner's hand. The auto driver had refused to be paid until family arrived.

A note from the founder

We made the most affordable QRs in India because we needed one ourselves.

In April 2025 my Activa got blocked in a bylane in Kandivali. The owner left a sticker on the windshield with a phone number scribbled on it. I called. The number was old. By the time I worked out who actually owned the car, I had been late to a wedding by 90 minutes.

That weekend I checked every Indian QR tag product I could find. The most affordable was ₹699 for a single sticker and looked like it was designed in 2014. The ones that looked decent were ₹1,500 or US-priced. None of them masked the number the way I assumed they would, you just got a plain WhatsApp link with the owner's personal phone behind it.

QRSprint is what I wish had been on that windshield. A ₹249 sticker. A 6-character ID printed on it. A QR that leads to a clean page that says "You found this Activa, message the owner on WhatsApp." No phone numbers traded, no creepy data, no app to install for anyone.
