Why use a WhatsApp QR code

Zero friction for the customer

Scanning opens WhatsApp directly to a chat with your number. The customer does not need to save a contact, dial, or remember anything. The action takes two taps.

Pre-filled message reduces drop-off

Set a starter message like "Hi, I want to know more about..." so customers are not staring at a blank compose box. A ready-made prompt converts more scans into actual conversations.

Works on every phone camera

iPhone and Android both decode QR codes natively from the built-in camera app. No separate scanner app is required. Customers scan once and they are in WhatsApp.

One code, global reach

WhatsApp has over two billion users worldwide. A single QR code connects you with customers in any country on any carrier, without international calling charges.

Conversations stay in WhatsApp

You get every message in the same app your team already uses. There is no new platform to manage and no extra software to install on your phone or computer.

Free, no account required

The generator on QRSprint is free and works without signing up. Enter your number, optionally add a pre-filled message, download the QR, and it is ready to print or share.

How to create a WhatsApp QR code

1

Enter your WhatsApp number

Go to the WhatsApp QR generator. Type your phone number in international format (country code followed by the number, no plus sign). This is the number contacts will reach when they scan.

2

Optionally add a pre-filled message

Type a short message that appears in the compose box when someone scans your code. Useful for directing inquiries: "Hi, I would like to book an appointment" or "I have a question about my order."

3

Download and place your QR

Download the QR as PNG for digital use or SVG for print. Add it to a business card, poster, packaging, or your website. Anyone who scans opens a WhatsApp chat with you immediately.

WhatsApp QR code: common questions

Does the WhatsApp QR code work for WhatsApp Business accounts?
Yes. The QR encodes a wa.me deep link that opens a chat in both personal WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business. Customers are taken directly to a conversation with your business number. No separate setup is needed for Business accounts.
Can I pre-fill a message in the WhatsApp QR code?
Yes. When you generate the QR you can enter an optional pre-filled message text. When someone scans and opens WhatsApp, that message appears in the compose box ready to send. This is useful for customer support inquiries, order requests, or appointment booking prompts.
Do I need to add the country code to my phone number?
Yes. WhatsApp deep links require the full international format without any leading plus sign or zeroes, for example 919876543210 for an Indian number. The generator accepts the number in international format and builds the correct wa.me URL automatically.
Will the QR code stop working if I change my WhatsApp number?
Yes. The phone number is encoded in the QR pattern. If you switch to a different number you need to generate a new QR and replace the printed copy. For printed materials like menus or posters, consider a dynamic QR so you can update the destination URL without reprinting.
Is there a limit to how many people can scan my WhatsApp QR code?
No. The QR code is simply a link. Any number of people can scan it and start individual conversations with you. Each scan opens a separate one-to-one chat, so there is no shared group or broadcast list created automatically.
