The app adds three things the web cannot do: dynamic QR codes (edit the destination after printing, see every scan in a dashboard), Security QR (your tagged item rings your phone when someone scans it, and your real number stays hidden), and Smart Tags with a full lost-and-found profile. These features require a device to receive calls and push notifications, which is why they live in the app.
If you only need a one-time static QR code, the web is enough. If you are printing tags, running a marketing campaign, or tagging something valuable, the app gives you control after the print.
