The QR encodes a Google Maps URL that points at your address or specific coordinates. When scanned, Google Maps opens with the pin dropped and a Directions button. On iPhone, users can long-press to open in Apple Maps instead. Both platforms read the same QR. The user gets to your shop, venue, or event without typing a multi-line address or hunting for the right pin.
The QR uses a Google Maps URL because it works universally and is the default on every Android phone. iPhone users who prefer Apple Maps can long-press the result and pick Open in Apple Maps. Google Maps remains the most reliable for Indian addresses where Apple Maps geocoding is sometimes imperfect outside major metros.
Address mode is easier for typical use: shops, restaurants, offices with a postal address. Type "Connaught Place, New Delhi" or "Brigade Road, Bangalore" and the QR opens that search. Coordinates mode is exact and useful when there is no clear address: a wedding venue inside a farm, a hiking start point, a temporary event location, or any place where the Google search returns the wrong pin. Get coordinates by long-pressing on Google Maps web and copying the lat/lng pair shown.
On wedding cards so guests get directions instantly. On event posters and Insta Stories. On hotel and homestay confirmations. On shop signboards and visiting cards. On delivery boxes for the next-time-shop link to your store address. For home-service businesses (plumbers, electricians, salons) the QR replaces the awkward "WhatsApp me for directions" exchange. For multi-outlet chains, generate one QR per branch via our Bulk tool.
