What size should a QR code sticker be?+

The minimum reliable scan size is 2cm x 2cm (about 0.8 inch square) in good lighting. For outdoor use like vehicle windscreens, 4cm x 4cm or larger is safer because it is read at arm's length in variable light. Always test scan with two or three phones before ordering a large batch.

What material should a QR code sticker be printed on?+

For outdoor and vehicle use: white vinyl with a UV laminate coat. The white background gives maximum dot contrast and the laminate protects against rain and sun. For indoor product packaging: paper label is fine. For luggage tags: consider a rigid plastic card with a QR printed in the center.

What happens if the sticker gets scratched?+

QR codes include error-correction that tolerates up to 30% of the pattern being obscured or damaged (level H). A scratched sticker will still scan unless the damage is severe or centered on the finder patterns (the three corner squares). Test scan a deliberately scratched test print before committing to a style.

Can I use a QR code sticker for a vehicle registration plate?+
